Meet Donna Beneteau

If a material for manufacturing the goods that society consumes is not grown, then it must be mined, and Beyond Geology strives to educate about these mined resources across Canada.

Geologists have done a great job describing the rocks across the country, but engineers and operators are not generally telling their stories of extracting the resources, and the importance of the work at specific operations to our daily lives.

Donna Beneteau is the creator of the website BeyondGeology.com. Her career and volunteering since she graduated from Geological Engineering in 1990 has been related to the mining industry. She is using this platform to share her knowledge with students and those interested in the history or impact of the industry. Her goal is to help others appreciate the magnificent mineral resources of our country, and to inspire others to help her tell their stories about our nation’s resources.
